A SCHEAIE FOR A PACIFIC FLEET.

Sir Thomas Bent, who has been indisposed, states that when he is able to tee Air Donkin he intends to ask him why England, Canada, New Zealand and Australia should not contribute to havo a navy, including battleships in the Pacific, and why the United States should not contribute also, making it a- point of concern that America lias interests in the Pacific which will bo increased when the Panama Canal is completed, and the presence of an Anglo-Saxon navy in tho Pacific would steady a lot of other nations. The contributors might borrow monoy to construct such a navy. Australia’s sharo would he about ton million pounds. When Air Deakin was seen in connection with Sir Thomas Bent’s scheme ho <asked to ho excused saying anything about it. ■' - =
