POLITICIANS AT, PLAY.
PARLIAMENTARY LAWN TENNIS [Special to “Times.”] WELLINGTON, Sept. 13. The beautiful weather ou Saturday tempted members into the opom. Accompanied by a number of friends a number indulged in a harbor excursion and paid a visit to Somes Island-. Others met each other in friendly rivalry on the lawn tennis courts of Parliament House, and spent a- delightful afternoon. The ladies’ championship was won by Miss Massey, the men’s doubles by Messrs Donald Reid and T. Y. Seddon, and the combined doubles by Wr- G. A. C. Hardy and Miss Chappie. The manner in which the genial aim portly member for Sehvyn and! Ills girl partner (a- daughter of Dr. Cliapple, M.P.) disposed of t'heir opponents in the tournament won the admiration of players and spectators alike. Tim final for tlie ladies’doubles lias yet to be played between Miss Ward and Miss Chappie. The tournament was arranged by Mr. MalooLm, M.P. Afternoon tea on. the lawn uas provided by members.
