ALBERTI’S DEFALCATIONS. LOSS FALLS ON SAIALL FARAIERS. United Press Association. Copyright LONDON, Sept. 22. Alberti embezzled £605,000 from tho Peasants’ Savings Bank. His forgeries on the Butter Association represent £225,000. The “Daily Afail” states that it is understood that Wilier and Riley’s losses represent a minor portion of tho latter amount, and are uppnrently recoverable from the Association, who can recover from farmers. Tlie “Butter Trado Journal” as Copenhagen states that 52 dairies aro liable to £SOOO each. It may ruin tho small farmers, who had no idea of any responsibility after receiving payment for their milk.
