JAMESTOWN (SOUTH AUSTRALIA) Mr. W. J. Quigley, proprietor oi tho Jamestown Motel, writes us follows : “For many years I have suffered from Indigestion and Dyspepsia, and was unablo to find anything to give mo relief until I tried Dr. Sheldon’s Digestivo Tubules. I rend in tho paper tho advertisements about tlieso Tab tiles, and noted that thoy were highly recommended by many wellknown people throughout Australia, and decided to give thorn a trial. 1 obtained a tin of the Tubules from tlio local chemist, and from the first left like a different man. 1 was able to enjoy my meals as never before, and eoulil eat whatever I desired; and since starting to tako them have never hud an attack of indigestion. 1 am now thoroughly cured, and heartily recommend Dr. Sheldon’s Digestive Tabules to anyone suffering from indigestion or dyspepsia, as I did.” Dr. Sheldon’s Digestive Tabules are sold at ‘2s 6d por tin of 80 tabules. Tho political address delivered at J. I'lvssisj Browne, Independent LnJ. Ulysses Browne, Independent tabor candidate for the Grey Lynn seat, was probably the shortest on record (savs the ‘‘New Zealand Herald”) It only lasted about a quarter of an hour. ' There was a very fair attendance of electors, and some disappointment was evidently felt at the terse manner in which the candidate expounded his views. In seconding a vote of than'ks to tlio speaker, a member of the audience expressed the opinion that, next time, Air Browne would probably elaborate upon bis views.
A MYSTERIOUS EVENT. Many physicians seem to think it a mysterious event when their patients—whom they cannot cure—are quickly relieved and restored to health by Dr. Sheldon’s New Discovery for Coughs, dolds, and Consumption; but there is nothing mysterious about it. Dr. Sheldon’s New Discovery represents tlie latest knowledge of the day in tho practice of the scienco of hoaling, and does not follow any of the old-fashioned methods of the materia medica. It goes right to the point of infection in all cases of throat and lung trouble, and by means that are all its own drives out the disease and heals the affected parts. It is a sale, pleasant, positive cure for all lung troubles. Try it. Obtainable at A. \V. J. Mann’s, chemist, agent.
A speaker at the meeting of Auckland seed-merchants, on .Friday, stated that thousands of acres in Otago were iniested by the Californian thistio and, he said, it would be a sorry day for the North when the weed was introduced amongst their farmers. Inquiries made by a N.Z. Herald representative, subsequently, elicited the fact that the statement was by no means an exaggeration. The weed is particularly prevalent in Southland, and how to get rid of it is a problem that has proton ted. an insurmountable difficulty so far to Southern landowners. Burning the weed off before it seeds has' hail very little effect an preventing its recurrence, and amongst other methods that have been tried 1 , with little result, to eradicate it, many farmers have mowed the thistio down each year and poured kerosene into the stems. The weed shows- a preference for dairy farms, anil in the words of one gentleman, who formerly farmed in the South, “it spreads like smallpox.”
