Colonel Knight, Chief Officer of the Salvation Army in the North Island, and Alaior MoKemsio, editor of the “War dry,'” arrive in Gisborne on Saturday, October 3rd, and during their stay will conduct a series of special meetings in connection with the annual self-denial movement. Mr. AI. B. Ansel 1, the popular secretary of the Gisborne Football Club, leaves Gisborne on Monday for AVaivoa, where he has accepted a lucrative position. Mr. AnsoM wa s one of tlio originators of Thursday football in this -district, and lie will be much missed in local sports circles.
