NO-LICENSE LEAGUE.

MONTHLY MEETING. Tlio monthly meeting o’t the NoLiccnso League was held in St. Andrew’s Schoolroom last evening, the Rev. F. IV. Chattel-ton in the chair. The financial position of the League was placed before tlio meeting, and arrangements were made for carrying on the campaign. Mr. A. J. Black telegraphed in reference to the Rev. R. B. S. Hammond’s visit to Gisborne: “The Rev. Chatterton, Gisborne. Advised Hammond brilliant advocate without compeer. Suggest Sunday afternoon monster open-air: meeting. After success 'assured. Kind regards to everybody.” On the motion of Mr. G. Barton Mr. Black’s work in Gisborne was placed on record. It was decided that as the Rev. Mr. Hammond will arrive in Gisborne on Sunday next, to make arrangements for liiin to speak in the theatre and to address open-air meetings. * The question of employing canvassers for the outlying districts was discussed. and it was decided to ask Mesrs Slack and Wade to take up the work.

A young men’s branch of the League was"formed to assist in the work in the smaller centres and the distribution. of literature. The Auckland League sent its congratulations .on the success of the “Times” in the recent alleged libel case.
