[Press Association.] DUNEDIN, October 5.' The ladies’ golf championship of New Zealand opened this morning. There were 32 entries, and tho play was over 18 holes. The weather was fine in the morning, but heavy rain fell in the afternoon. The following are the day’s results:—Mrs. Bunnylev (Oamaru) beat Miss' G. Gorrie (Auckland), 1 up; Miss' C. Kettle (Christchurch) boat .Mrs. Warburton (Manawatu) by default ; Miss Rollers (Otago) heat Miss Gorrie (Auckland), C up and 4 to play ; Airs. Mellsop (Manawatli) heat Miss Brandon (Wellington), 2 up; Miss Rcvell (Timiru) beat Miss W. Scott (Otago), 2 up and 1 to play; Airs. Sargood (Otago) heat Miss S. Williams (Otago) at the lflfcli hole; Mrs. Allan (Otago) beat Mrs. G. Todd (Otago), 3 up and 2 to play; Airs. Alackie (Otago) heat Airs. Haiulyside (Invercargill), 3 up and 2 to play; Miss Alill (Otago) beat Aliss Fotheringham (St.. Clair), 1 up; Miss AI. Beswick (Oamaru) beat Mrs. Gilray (Otago), 4 up and 2 to play; Mrs. Fergus (Otago) beat Mrs.' Cox (Timaru), 2 up; Aliss Gould (Otago) beat Aliss L.
