THfc NAVAL SCHEME CRITICISED OPPOSITION BY AIR. GEORGE REID. United Press Association. Copyright AIELBOURNE, Oct. 7. In tho debate on tho Defence Bill, Air. G. H. Reid, criticising Air. Deakin’s naval scheme, said that if Australia wanted to, go for a naval scheme let her do so. but there was no necessity to endeavor to get out of payment- of £200,000 for the magnificent „ protection they got from the British * fleet. The British fleet was sufficient for the next ten years, and supplemented by the present defence force would be enlarged and improved.
