Westralia, Auckland', October 31. Waikare, South, November 1. VESSELS IN PORT. Haere, scow. Avanui, schooner. The U.S.S. Co.’s Haupiri arrrived from South yesterday morning and sailed later for Coast ports and Auckland. She brought a number of passengers, and a large quantity of cargo and; mails for this port. The schooner Avanui arrived in the Bay from Auckland and Coast ports yesterday morning, and came alongside the wharf about midday. Sho had a long voyage from- Auckland, having left that port on October 7th vitli a light south-vest wind. This wind continued until the 11th inst., w-lien the Capo vas passed. The following day the wind dropped to a dead calm, and the vessel drifted back round tho Cape. She vas practically becalmed until the evening of 14th inst., when she again rounded the Cape with a fresh westerly. At Waipiro, on 15th inst., 15,000 ft of timber were- discharged, and on the folloving day the Avanui arrived at Tologa Bay, where she unloaded 5000 ft of timber, 6 tons of general cargo, and a large number of bricks. After leaving Tologa Bay the weather was calm for a. while, and then variable north-east winds were experienced until the schooner arrived here. The folloving is her cargo for this port\:—From Auckland: 40 tons bulk Taupiri coal, 70 sacks lime, T 3000 ft timber, 10 tons mixed pipes, 90 Oamaru stones, 2 piers of Milestone, and a launch for Mr. C. Thomas. From Tologa: 21 bales wool, 15 hides, and 2 boxes of butter.
The TJ.iS.S. Co.’s Warn aka will arrive liere early next week from South, on her way to Auckland. The Canterbury Shipping Company's s.s Ripple leaves Greymouth to-day for Gisborne with a cargo of timber for Messrs Peacocke and C 0... and is due here on Friday. The ketch Coronation and scow Rambler are timed to leave Whitianga to-day with full loads of timber for this port. The IT.S.S. Co.’s Monowai arrives this morning early from South, and leaves later for Auckland. The Karo ro leaves the wharf at 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.
The Huddart-Parker Co.’s Westralia arrives this afternoon from Sydney and Auckland, and resumes her journey to Southern ports during the evening. Outward passengers leave the wharf at 7 p.m.
