WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. Tho weather .in tho earlier part of tho day was line, but cloudy, for tho first day’s.spring meeting of the Wellington Racing Chib. Tho attendance was large, and there were some excellent races. Shortly after 3 o’clock, heavy rain set in and continued for tlio remainder of tho day, and for the last three races the going became heavy. Twenty-nine bookmakers were licensed. The totalisator investments amounted to £10,689, as compared with' £14,715 for the previous year. Results: — October Hack Hurdles. —Liberator. 1, Master Douglas 2, Yosami 3. Time,’ 3.min 21 2-ssec.
