The Medical Congress carried a resolution that hospitals maintained by charitable donations and Government grants should be free to patients that should sign a declaration that they are unable to afford medical attendance. Resolutions were adopted that no medical man should pass for admission to a friendly society or association for professional attendance at contract rates any person whose income from all sources exceeds £4 per week; that no medical man should attend at contract rates any member whoso income exceeds £6 per week. Dr. Mason (Chief Health Officer for New Zealand) delivered a paper on “Sidelights on "the work of a health officer.” “ "
