TRIAL OF SUFFRAGISTS.

DEMONSTRATION IN COURT,

United Press Association, Copyright

LONDON, Oct. 25

After hearing twenty-seven -witnesses, Air. Curtis Bennett, the magistrate, refused to permit the waste of the time of the Court in listening to a further string of witnesses testifying to the orderly nature of the suffragist croAvd, and bound Airs. Parikliurst and Aliss Drummond, in £2OO, to keep the peace for a year, with the alternative of ten weeks’ imprisonment. Aliss Pankhurst made an emotional speech of an hour’s length, and burst into tears. Airs. Pankhurst also concluded with sobbing. After the magistrate’s sentence, the prisoners dramatically elected to go to prison. The officials failed to suppress a loud and continued suffragist demonstration in Court.
