WEST’S PICTURES
The change of programme .submitted by "West’s Picture Company in His Majesty’s Theatre last- evening drew a- crowded house, and the quality of the pictures thrown uom the screen was admirable. The long senes of films showing the arrival of the American fleet in Sydney harbor and the decorations in the streets of Sydney were beautifully clear and distinct, and as the great battleships passed they were, loudly cheered. The busy streets of Sydney during fleet week were excellently pourtrayed. A long film showing the old ruins in Sicily conveyed with perfect x'ab.un an idea of the old-time arc hi tea'ire of Southern Europe, and representations of the wood-chonping t ( vt<= at the Melbourne Axemen’s Jaruu al and rough-riding at the Christchurch exhibition buildings proved very exciting. The humorous films created roars of laughter. The same programme will be presented again this evening, and to-morrow afternoon a matinee performance will be given, for which a special programme has been arranged.
O’NEILL’S BECK JUMPERS. O’Neill’s bueivjunipers were well patronised again last night, and the entertainment given was quite up to the standard of previous exhibitions. The competition for local riders brought out seven acceptors,'and some excellent riding was witnessed, the winners being found in three brothers, Messrs A., H-, and J. Morris, in tno order named. £2 presented by Mr, Lucas, of the Coronation Ho
tel, was handed to these gentlemen. The sensational shooting of the Barnard Bros, received well-merited applause, and tho tricks of Sando, the highly trained and intelligent pony, wore well received. The entertainment was brought to a close by tho laughter-producing turn, “Fun in the Stockyard.” To-night there will bo another entertainment, when some “outlaws” will be brought in for Mr. E.
