ENTERTAINMENTS.
WEST’S PICTURES
The moving picture has long proved itself a great public attraction, and, judging by the attendance at His Majesty's Theatre this week, still continues, to do so. As on previous evenings, the theatre was crowded by an enthusiastic audience, which gave hearty applause to the many and various pictures with which they found favor. The film depicting Admiral Sperry’s fleet entering Sydney harbor, and a few of the subsequent festivities in connection with tlie fleet’s.visit to the New South Wales capital, were splendidly received, and. as usual, the humorous pictures were productive of prolonged roars of hearty laughter. This afternoon there will be a matinee performance, commencing at three o’clock, and in the evening there will be an entire change of programme.
O'NEILL'S BUCKJTAMPERS
O’Neill’s buckjumper.s arc still proving a draw, and had a very large attendance last evening. The rough riding was again a feature of last night’s programme, the riding of 3lr. Ernie O’Neill on a genuine local “outlaw” proving tlie truth of Tiis claims as to horsemanship. The Barnards" shooting was quite as sensational and entertaining as tlieir former efforts, and called forth rounds of applause. The local riders at tonight’s entertainment are to compete for a medal donated bv Mr. J. J. Martin, of the Royal Hotel. The local “oulaw" brought in. last evening was owned by Mr. Greaves, of Makauri, and was a genuine bucker. The clever manner in which Mr Ernie O’Neill stuck to bis mount- called up round after round of applause, and when, after riding the viciously-buck-ing brute to a standstill, lie proceeded to give a demonstration on the animal as if it were the quietest--teed ever foaled, the delight of the "Midience appeared unbounded. Great interest attaches to to-night’s oerformance, as an “outlaw” that has ■ong defied all attempts to ride him will he brought in to test Mr. O’NeiU’s powers. To-morrow night will witness the final performance of this clever combination.
