Mr. G. F. Matthews. of Queen Street, Melbourne, has been appointed a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Victoria.
Mr. L. F. Arson, Chief Inspector of Fisheries, left for London by tho Athenic last week, for the purpose of bringing back to New Zealand salmon ova and some species of fish which is is proposed to introduce into New Zealand.
Following is the complete list of the Presbyterian nominations for the Moderator of Assembly for 1909-10: —Rev. Isaac Jolly, M.A., of Palmerston North, has been nominated by the Presbyteries of Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, "Wanganui, "Wellington, "Westland, Oamaru, and Dunstan (S); Rev. J. H. Mackenzie, M.A., by the Presbyteries of Christchurch, Dunedin, Mat-aura, and Southland (4);-Rev. "William M’Ara, by the Presbytery of Nelson, (1); Rev, "William Hewitson, B. A., bv the Presbytery of Timaru (1) ; Rev. C. 13. Inglis, by tlie Presbytery of Clutha (I).—Total 1-5.
