S:r Joseph Ward having forwarded His Majesty, through His Excellency, the felicitations and congratulations of the people of the Dominion on his birthday, and tendered their hearty loyalty, received at Palmerston, through His Excellency, a cablegram from the Ring, expressing appreciation of the assurances of the loyalty of the people of New Zealand, and assuring them of his regard for their welfare.
