INTIMIDATION BY TERRORISTS. A DETECTIVE MURDERED. United Press Association. Copyright (Received Nov. 11, 9.50 p.m.) OALLu iTA, Nov. 11. Intimidation exercised by terrorists, the -unsatisfactory attitude of many in the crowd after the attempt on Governor Fraser’s life, and other ominous signs in Calcutta, have aroused intense indignation in Northern India. A strong feeling is expressed in favor of the establishment of a Court of Summary Jurisdiction. The detective inspector, who tracked Bhakai, the murderer of the Kennedys at Muzzaft'orpore, has been shot dead in the street at Calcutta by three Bengalis, who escaped. A MURDERER’S FUNERAL. GREAT POPULAR DEMONSTRATION. (Received Nov. 12, 12.15 a.m.) CALCUTTA, Nov. 11. Kaniaopo, the murderer of the informer Gossiain, was banged at Alipur. Many women, contrary to Indian custom, followed the body to the burning ghat. The remains were placed on a pyre of sandalwood and anointed with ghee- as in the case of distinguished persons. The murderer’s uncle delivered an oration, which was greeted with shouts of “Victory to Kanai.” The mourners included thousands of students.
