A remarkable scene, evidently a battle between a whale and a school of kilters, was -witnessed by a large crowd of picnickers at Bondi .boach, near Sydney, one Sunday afternoon recently. Australian journal, says that “a huge sea monster appeared on the surface about half a anile distant from the beach, and lashed the water into foam for a radius of six or eight yards. Then again both ends of the monster would be raised at the same time, /and curve round to meet in the air, after which -a huge splash, greater than before would result. After, it had been exercising .itself in this strange way for close upon an hour a motor launch appeared from the direction of Coogee and headed towards it, whereupon the monster, after a supreme effort of eleven upheavals, performed without a pause for rest, suddenly sink from view.
