BOWLING.
On account of the' weekly halfholiday not being observed yesterday, there was .not the usual Thursday attendance on the .greens of the Gisborne and Turanganui Clubs, though on eaoh there was a fairly numerous attendance of players. The weather, though dull, was not unfavorable for bowling, and those .present spent a pleasant time. No tournament matches were got off, but a '.number of practice games were play--ed.
