THAMES, Nov. 13, An important judgment was delivered by Warden Burgess in a suit by the Miners’ Union against members for moneys due on a strike levy towards . assisting the Blackabll miners. The Magistrate held that the contention that the levy was made for illegal p-urpos#9 would not h-old. A strike was; not- a continuing offence, and therefore .it was not illegal to -assist strikers after the -day, on which a strike took place. Another contention was that the -council exceeded its powers in making such- a levy, and this the warden held' was illegal, and pronounced judgment -for defendants.
