WHO IS MR SIMSON?
[To the Editor.] i> •Sir, —There is a short Jet-tor in your issue of this morning, which is a contemptible attempt of a cowardto criticise my letter on the No-li-cense question. I use the word coward advisedly for the reason that every fair-minded man will admit that a man who attempts to stab another and hides his identity under x ijom de plume of “Citizen” must he a cur at heart. “Citizen” may be. a pimp or he may belong to any portion of the scum of any town. It is only amongst the scum that such writers are found. “Citizen” wants to know who knows me. Tens of thousands ; all the leading politicians in the Dominion; the Hon. James Carroll for the last 30 years ; in Auckland fi-om the guttersnipe up to the Chief Magistrate. ' To “Citizen” I would say : —My family history and reference of character’ I will place in the hands of the Editor of this paper before he publishes nTy reply and I expect him to have iho same from yo-u. Disclose your identity and I am prepared to meet you cither mentally or physically. All I want is a fair field and no favor. —I am, etc., HECTOR NORMAN SIMSON.
