Mr. Cyril Griffin, M.A., 13.5 c., son of Key. C. Griffin, Wesley . Church, lias .been successful in gaining a Bucknill Exhibition of £6O at London University. Mr. Griffin is studying for the M.B. degree at tlio übove University, and has gained this honor at the end of his first year s course. A Press Association telegram states that at a concert on Wednesday night in the Wellington Town Hall, the national estimonial to Mr. W. J. Wallace, the well-known footballer, was presented -by the. Prime Minister. Mr. Wallace was given a cheque for £250, and is to receive the proceeds of tlio'"eoncert, which may run into £SO or thereabouts. A Press "Association telegram from Carterton states that a movement has been started to present Mr. J. T. M. Hornsby, late M.P. for .Wiairarapa, who was defeated in the general election by .Mr. W. C. Buchanan, with a substantial recognition of his serV to tlie 'district wih.i*lo.£i iticiiiugi of the House. The presentation is hfeing made .in view of his probable departure from the Wairarapa.
