The New Alpine mine manager reports as follows for the week ending November 17tli:—During the week the double cross-cut was extended a further distance oV 19ft, making the total distance from the shaft 49ft, and leaving an estimated further distance to drive of about llOfft, to cut the reef about- 40ft north of winze. The cross-cut is now in hard ground, but as the double way is nearly finished, much faster progress will be made with the single way. The new water hoist is almost completed, and other minor works about tlie mine and plant are ivell in hand. Everything his gone satisfactorily- during theiveek.
