TEHERAN, Nov. 23
The Shah’s rescript abolishing the constitution is considered an open affront to” Britain and Russia and a barefaced violation of his oath and promises. Both Legations made urgent representations, and solid pressure, is contemplated to convince the Si ah of the earnestness of the British and Russian demands. THE NEW CONSTITUTION. ALLEGED TO BE AGAINST ISLAMIC LAWS. (Received Nov. 24, 12.8 a.m.) TEHERAN, Nov. 23. The Shah’s rescript, as addressed to the reactionary priests, alleged as a basis for the abolition of the constitution the grounds that the new constitution was against Islamic laws.
