CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 24. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Shipping Company to-day, the 'annual report recommended payment of a dividend of 10s per share for the year, of which 4s per l share was paid in April, carrying • forward £15,008 15s 6d, and a distribution equal to 5 per cent per share. It was stated that after transferring £2OOO to the insurance fund tlio balance of profit and loss was £12,383 9s 3d in excess of last year’s profit. A contract had been let for the construction of an 8000-ton steamer to steam 13 knots, with improved passenger accommodation.' the wool freight rates would not be increased, and flax was fixed at 45s and tow 60s per ton till October 31, 1909.
