NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 27

The directors’ report to be ted at the annual meeting of the Taranaki Oil and freehold Company states that the bore is now -down: SSo feet, of which 740 feet is through nay hard rock or difficult strata. The staff is now reaming the bore out to 14 inches. From 449 feet downwards an encouraging show of oil was met with, improving steadily as the boring proceeded. The directors sec their way to continue work for another year, but hope to get oil before that time ■ expires.
