At the Horticultural Society’s Colonial Exhibition, the New Zealand Government were awarded a silver medal for cold-stored apples, and a bronze medal for honey. Messrs Kirkpatrick and Company (Nelson) were awarded a silver medal for jams, etc; the Hokianga Co-operative Company and Clarke Brothers (Whangarei) bronze medals for preserves; New Sooth Wales Government a silver medal for dried fruits.
