ITALY’S ATTITUDE

BERLIN, Dec. 8
Prince Billow, in liis speech in the Reichstag, remarked that Italy, like Germany, was prompted by her own interests to adopt a mediatorial attitude. It was possible, as on any previous occasion, to adjust the difference between Austria and Italy.
A REMARKABLE INTERVIEW. ANGLO-FRANCO-RUSSIAN ALLIANCE PREDICTED. BERLIN, Dec. 8. The 'newspaper “Lokalanzeiger has published a remarkable interview with M. Isvolslcy, Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs, who states that the conclusion of a formal alliance between France, Russia, and England is imminent, and that it has become necessary, in order to prevent Germany pursuing a personal and independent policy in the East, which •would cause a greater breach than Austria’s Balkan policy. M. Isvolsky stated that should the Powers accept Austria’s un fait accompli, Russia would claim compensation on behalf of those interested in the Balkan States.

The newspaper “Zeit,” closely allied with the official world* of Vienna, is disappointed with Prince Bulow’s speech, and complains of his not mentioning British diplomacy, whose hand is directing the strings of the mysterious movement now running "throughout European States and peoples.
