POVERTY BAY CLUB
The semi-final of the double sculling competition for Mr. C. Morse’s trophies was rowed last night, when C. Clark .and M. Sceats (7sec) beat B. Karton and H. Holshier (18sec) by lvalf-a-length, after a good race. Tli© winners meet C. Somervell and W. Fitzgerald (Bsec) in the final this evening. GISBORNE CLUB.
Two heats were rowed, for the trophies presented hy Mr. Hennessy to the Gisborne Rowing Club, on the Waimata course yesterday afternoon. O. Hansen’s crew beat F. Cummings’ crew by aobut a length, and Stephenson’s crew beat Smith’s crew by half-a-lengtli, after /a good race.
