VESSELS IN PORT.
Awanui, schooner. Coronation, ketch. Haere, scow. Mimiro, s.s, in the Bay
The U.S.'S. Co.’s Monowai .arrived from south early yesterday morning and sailed later for Auckland. She had rather a rough passage from Napier, and experienced the full force of a strong north-east gale. The scow Waikonini/, which .was sheltering in the Bay on Tuesday night, continued her voyage north yesterday afternoon. The schooner Awanui returned to port yesterday afternoon, as with the present weather she would be unable to work Tolloga Bay. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Go. s Aotea arrives from Auckland on Sunday night, and lloads here on Monday and Tuesday. (Messrs Dalgety and Go., (loading agents.) . The Tvser Co.’s Mimiro finishes loading operations this morning and sails for Napier. . The ketch Coronation 'was taking in ballast yesterday, and is expected to sail for Whitianga to-day, if the weather moderates. The absence of the .long-promised light ou Tuahine Point was responsible to a great extent, for the late arrival of the s.s. Wimmera from Auckland, last night. /She was oft Tatapouri at 8.30 p.m., but as the /weather outside was very thick she .wlas unable to pick up the leading lights for .about an hour, and did not come up to her anchorage until 10.30 p.m. The captain however, considered that had there been a light on Tuahine he would have been enabled to come straight in instead of hanging off outside. The Hud-dart-Parker Co.’s Wammera was late in her- /arrival from Auckland last night, and did not /put in an appearance until 10.30 p.m. Owing to the heavy sea in the Bay difficulty was experienced in landing her passengers and cargo. She was expected to sail for Napier at 4 or 5 this morning. The following have booked passages from this port: For Napier :M.r. and) Mrs. H. White, Mr. and Mrs. Oldfield, -Mrwand Mrs. Palmer; -Masses Harding, White, Coop, McArthur, /Sidey, I.
