ROBBERIES IN WELLINGTON
A SERIES OF CHARGES

-- WELLINGTON, Dec. 17. William Neil, alias Thompson., and John McCormick, alias A. Gann lon. appeared on remand before Mr. Riddell, S.M., yesterday afternoon, charged’ Avith assaulting and robbing, on the 7th December, one Knud Christian Jorgenson, of a- Avatch, chain, a sovereign case, £2 8s in money, and several other articles of a total \ aluc of £4 lbs 6d. Against McCormick were three other charges of a similar nature assault and robbery.? He was charged first Avitli having, on the_ stb December, assaulted and robbed John Cor rick of 15s in money, then on the same date Arthur James Black in money, aud finally, on the tth December. George Reid of one ribbon cruard and a soA'ereign case, of a total value of £B. After evidence had been heard, the accused AA'as committed for trial. , , Joseph Bor lace pleaded guilty to stealing a- watch and chain from the person of Michael Clancy, and. aars committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. A youth uamed Herbert Stanley Hill was charged with breaking and entering, on the 10th of December, into the dwelling-house of Walter Josepli Baskh-ille, with intent to commit a crime. He pleaded guilty, and Avas committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
