CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS.

POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT.

25tli and 26th December, 1908, and Ist January, ~1909. Postal Branch. —Fridays, the 25th December and Ist January (Christmas . Day and New Year’s Day) will be observed as close holidays. On Saturday, the 26th inst (Boxing Day), the Post Office will be; open in all branches excepting the Money Order and Sawings Bank, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Receivers and posting boxes will be cleared on the evenings of Thursdays, the 24th and 31st insts. Mails usually despatched on Fridays will be closed on Thursday nights, the 24th and 31st insts, at 7ffio p.m. : On Boxing Day, the 26th inst., the usual despatch of mails up to 8 a.m. will be made, receivers and posting boxes cleared accordingly. On the 26-th inst. a complete delivery by letter carrier will be made. On Thurs- * day, the 24th and 31st insts, a delivery of town letters (including registered) will be made between 7 and 8 p.m. at the Post Office wicket. Telegraph Office—On Friday(Chnstmas Day) Sunday hours will be observed, viz.. 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and , 5 to 5.30 pan. On. Saturday (Boxing ' Day) and Friday (New Year’s Day) the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 pan. and 7 p.m. to midnight.
