King Edward telegraphed the Sultan as follows: “Sincere congratulations on the assembling of the Turkish Parliament. It is my earnest prayer that its activity may conduce the happiness of all Your Majesty’s subjects and promote the prosperity and welfare of the country and maintain its cordial and peaceful relations with other countries.”
