ill-. E. McGregor,.of the Customs Department, has received advice that he was successful in the four subjects for which he sat in the recent solicitors’ law professional examination. Mr. McGregor left by the Mokoia on Saturday morning on three weeks leave of absence, being relieved by Mr. J. Gray, of the .head office. His Honor Judge Edwards was a through passenger from Auckland to Napier by the Monowai yesterday. Mr H. J- Day, local traffic manager, went South by. tlie s.'s. Monowai last nischt. •Mr C. J. Reakes, IM.R. C.V.S., Government Assistant Chief Veterinarian, was busy on Satfurday visiting the abattoirs and freezing works m tho district in company with Mr. Burton, District Government Veterinarian. Mr. Brakes’ visit was purely departmental, and He left for Wellington yesterday. The Rev. F. AV. and Mrs. Chatterton and Miss Chatterton went South by the s.s. Monowai last evening. Mr. and Mrs. T. Alston Coleman were passengers for Napier last evenmg. Mr. and Mrs. J. AVauchop, of M-a-kaiiri, went South last evening on a month’s vacation. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Brownlee went South last evening on a holiday vacation. Among the passengers South last evening wore several ladies bound for the •annual Bible Class Camp, which is this year being held' at Masterton. The J. C. Williamson Company (34)’ arrived from Auckland yesterday. ■Miss M. L. Hunt, B.A. who has .severed her oonne'Ctioii with tho &isborne District High School, left for her home in Wellington by last evening’s boat. „ ~ .. Mr. A. Parlane left for the Spilth Island last evening on a brief holiday visit.
