DIIUNJiENNESS. -

Arthur Fletcher, for a second conviction within six months, was fined £1 with 2s costs or in default four days’ imprisonment. Alfred James Nicholas Weston was brought up on a similar charge. Mr J. R. Kirk appeared for him and entered a plea of guilty. Counsel asked for leniency and said that .accused would consent to the issue of a prohibition order.

His Worship said that accused had been before him and warned- time after time, “but in view of what counsel had mid he would only impose a penalty of 5s and costs or 24 hours’ imprisonment. A. prohibition order was issued.

PROCURING LIQUOR. Richard Solomon, on remand, pleaded -guilty to a charge of having procured liquor during the currency of a prohibition order against him. Sergt. Hutton detailed the circumstances ®pf the case, which have already been published and said that a gentleman in the country was willing to take 'accused- .and give him work.

His Worship said that he had tried all ways with accused and did not want to .send him to prison. Accused was hound over in a sum of £5 to come up for sentence when called upon, His Worship remarking that the next time 'accused came before him he would get a long sentence. INDECENCY. . ■Alfred iMunnerly was charged with having wilfully, and obscenely exposed his person on Saturday afternoon on the Waikanae beach within the sight of passers-by. Accused pleaded guilty, and the statement of Sergeant Hutton disclosed a disgusting state of affains. Accused .pleaded drunkenness in extenuation, but His Worship _ imposed a sentence of 6 months’ imprisonment with hard labor -in the Napier prison.

RESISTING THE POLICE. Alfred Munnerly was further charged with. having violently resisted Sergeant Hutton in the execution of his duty. Accused admitted having struggled but denied any knowledge of the identity of Sergt. Hutton at. the time. His Worship decided to hear the evidence, .and after Sergt. Hutton .and Mr E. N. Sidebottom (who came to the Sergeant’s assistance) had given their statements, His Worship inflicted a. -fine of £3 and 2s costs in default of immediate payment 14 -days’ foard labor, ’
