WEDDING.

JOHNSTON—ROBINSON.

A pretty wedding, of considerable local interest, was celebrated at Holy' Trinity Church yesterday afternoon. The contracting parties were Mr Herbert Johnston, of Wellington, second son of Mr David Johnston, late Collector of Customs, Wellington, and Miss Louisa Deasou Robinson,, fourth daughter of Mr William Reginald Robinson, barrister and solicitor, Gisborne. A large number of friends witnessed the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. .L. Dawson Thomas. Mr Sidebottoin presided at the organ, and played the wedding hymn. “The Voice that Breathed o’er Eden,” as the bride entered the Church, and Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” at the conclusion of the ceremony. Tlie bride was given away by Ker "father, and had her four sisters for bridesmaids. Mr F, Cumming acted as best man, and Mr Heath Johnston (cousin of the bridegroom) as groomsman. The bride was dressed in a gown of ivory- white taffeta chiffon; empire skirt, trained and finished with padded hem. bodice to dnatcli, trimmed with silk Brussels net, with lace and insertion to match, silver tassels and French knots, and ghe wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaids wore dresses of white mousselane. Mrs Robinson (mother of the bride) wore a dress of brown crystalline, with glace silk and cream net, and tassels for trimmings, and brown hat. Mrs R. D. B. Robinson wore a floral dress and hat trimmed.. with roses. After the ceremony ~ the bridal party drove to the resi- * donee of the bride’s parents, atKaiti, where the wedding breakfast was served. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold brooch set with, pearls and emeralds : to tlie chief bridesmaid a gold brooch with rubies, and to the other three gold pins with stones. Tlie bride’s travelling dress was a navy blue tailor-made costume, lined with white brocaded silk, with corded silk cuffs and collar and white •hat trimmed with white roses and chiffon. The happy couple leave next Sunday on their honeymoon trip, for Wanganui, New Plymouth and Wellington.
