WHANGAREI CARNIVAL.

AN EXTENSIVE PROGRAMME.

WHANGAREI, Dec. 23

A great influx of visitors is probable for the Whangarei carnival, December 80, 31, January 1 and 2. Special accommodation arrangements have been made. The carnival will consist of a band contest,, military and cadet sports, bowling and tennis tournaments, and regatta l . At night there will be an entertainment at the illuminated 1 grounds. Exceptionally large entries have been received for the axemen’s sports, including most of the noted axemen in the Dominion. It will be the biggest contest of this class ever known in the North. Harbor and land excursions have been arranged, and trout fishing is also available.
