THE RETORT COURTEOUS.
Tho old major of cavalry was the owner of a pair of bow logs and a hot temper. Ho ..was, moreover, an enthusiastic golfer. But he was still only fifty yards from his first too with his fifth stroke. Tho new member had been waiting to play, and at last liis patience gave out. “Fore!” ho cried, and drove on. He had done better to have waited a little longer.
