ROWING.
POVERTY BAY CLUB
The final race for Mr Frank Harris’s gold medals between R. Jones and P. Fishcbach (2 sec) and W. McGuffie and J .Malone (scr) was rowed on 'Thursday evening. The former crew got away well at the start and led all the way, but there was a -very good race, McGuffie rowing a very powerful stroke. When off Mr Nesbitt’s Jones was two lengths in the lead. Then McGuffie put on a spurt and, Jones just managed to pass the post with a bare margin of three feet. Both crews were fully extended.
