AUCKLAND. Dec. 28. The steamer "W akanui, which arrived from London to-dav; brought. 391 immigrants, 109 for Auckland, 7 for Gisborne and Tauranga, 17 for Napier, 27 for New Plymouth, 92 for Wellington, 11 for Nelson,, 15 for Westport, 7 for Greymoutli, 78 for Lyttelton, and 22 for Dunedr*. A large percentage of the passengers aro fouuilt's. r llio nowcomers are of promising appearance. During the voyage twins were born to Mrs Lingliam and a. son to Mrs Smith, The trip was made very pleasant ' with games, sporting events, concerts, dancing, etc., and Christinas was loyally celebrated. Tho mile immigrants are principally farm liauds and tradesmen.
