MEN FALL FROM TRAINS.
ONE MAN REPORTED MISSING

CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 29
On the arrival of the last express from the South last night, it w.as reported that a inan, considerably under the influence of liquor, had fallen from one of the leading carriages as the train was nearing Christchurch. Search parties Avero immediately organised, and the track scoured as fur .as Addington, Avithout result. A trolly Avas then run on the rails as far as Middleton, six men searching, but without success. The out-going godds train at midnight was instructed to keep a look-out as far as Islington. The man is described as under middle age, rough looking, Avith a black moustache, and Avas Avearing a felt hat-. He joined -the express at Timaru. A m,air named Arthur Higgs fell off the second express from South near Rakaia on Saturday night. He Avas picked up,, apparently none the worse. He spent the night at Dmisamlel, and came on to Christchurch yesterday.
