Co.’s Manuka arrives from South this morning and sails later for Auckland and Sydney. The Tuatea leaves' the wharf at G a.in. and TO a.m. The Union iS.S.-Co.’s Monowai returns from Auckland to-morrow afternoon and ‘sails South in the evening. Outward passengers leave the wharf at 5 p.m. - .. . The Tyser Company’s Star ov kew Zealand is due here on Friday, January S to load for London (Messrs Williams and Kettle agents). . The Shaw Savill and Albion Co. s Mat at u a is due here on Monday to load frozen meat, wool, etc., (Messrs Common, Slielton and Co. loading agents). The following were shipments from this port by the N. Z. Shipping Company’s Opawa on Wednesday night: 3720 hales and 100 pockets of wool; 27 casks tallow. Shipped by Bennett and iSherratt 840 bales; Common Shelton and Co. 100 bales; Dalgety and -Co. 293 .bales; N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency. 860 bales; Bank of New South Wales 24 bales; Bank of New Zealand IGO3 bales, 100 pockets and 27 casks of tallow. The steamer •Manapoiiri has been commissioned by the Union Steam Ship Company to initiate the new direct service that is to connect Wellington with Rarotonga and Tahiti. The Manaponri is time-tabled to leave Wellington oil January 3, to arrive at Barotonga on the 9th and at Papeete (Tahiti) on the -12th. The arrangement has been made in conjunction with Messrs Spreckels and -■ Co., whose steamer leaves Papeete for San Francisco on January 13, arriving there on January 25, as providing n 22 days’ service between Wellington and San Francisco. On her return the Manaponri w(11 leave Papeete on January 13 and Rarotonga on January 16, arriving back in Wellinjgton on' January 24, which arrangement provides three weeks exactly for the round trip. It is ■rumored that a steamer of about 420 tons register is being built in England for the New Zealand coastal trade. •Nothing has yet turned up for the barque County of Inverness, winch has been in South Australian waters nearly 12 months now.. . Dismantling operations are progressing'rapidly on the barque foilver Cloud at Hobart, and it is thought that she will be ready ‘for her new employment as a coal hulk, early this month. The schooner Kaeo arrived from Tologa. Bay and other ports early yesterday morning. Captain Skinner re*ports that the schooner sailed from Gisborne at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. Arrived at Pikarae at daylight on Wednesdav, landed cargo and shipped 100 hales wool, then sailed for the Loisels, landed cargo, shipped 120 bales wool. Thursday morning. shipped fiftv hales wool and went on to Tologa 'Bay. Landed 26 tons cargo and timber, shipped wool, then returned to Loisels and finished loading at 6 p.m. Sailed at 8. p.m. for Gisborne, arriving 1 a.m. January 1. The Ivaeo’s cargo for this port is 400 Inles wool anti a quantity of general. The schooner will begin unloading here on Monday and is expected to sail on Wednesday night for AuckInd, via bays on the Coast.
