" AUCKLAND, Jan. 2. Tho concluding day’s racing, in connection with the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting took place at Ellerslie this afternoon. The rain that
fell last evening had the effect of freshening the course and its surroundings up considerably, but there was not - sufficient to affect the track. There was a good attendance. The resuls were as follows:

HAWKE’S BAY RACES. [Press Association.] HASTINGS, Jan. 2. The Hawke’s’ Bay Jockey Club’s summer meeting was concluded today before a good attendance. The day was fine but windy. The totalisation returns for the meeting amounted to £15,321, as against £17,025 last year. Bookmakers’ fees for the meeting totalled £32S. MURIWAI MAORI RACES. The Muriwai Maori Racing Club held a race meeting in a paddock at Muriwai on Saturday. There was a good-sized crowd present, a number of well-filled drags and private vehicles going out from town. A number of bookmakers were present. For the greater part the races were well contested, and one or two goodi finishes took place. All of the officials were Natives. The following were the results: Maiden Scurry, four furlongs: Matiti 1, Prodell 2. Eleven horses started. Muriwai Maori Cup. of £ls, one 'mile and a distance: Matiti 1. Spike Island 2. Eight horses started. Pony Race, four furlongs: Arana 1. Take Down 2. Nine horses started. Takitimu Stakes, five furlongs: Jack 1, Cakewalk 2. Six horses started. Ladies’ Bracelet, seven furlongs: Bill 1, Hikitu 2. Seven horses started. Flying Handicap, six furlongs: Traitor 1, Jack 2. Seven horses started. Consolation Race, once round the course: Glenrose 1, Bill 2. Five ihorses started.
