It has been said (a southern paper common ts) at times that the strong n of the volunteers in New Zealand 'is--, steadily diminishing, but there is no. truth 'in the statement, for figures, compiled during the present month, show that there are more volunteersin the Dominion now than at an\ time in tho past, .
