THE NEW MINISTERS.

ANTICIPATIONS

[Special to “Times.”]

WELLINGTON, Jan. 5

His. Excellency the Governor arrives in town to-night and it is understood the new members of the Cabinet will be sworn in at a meeting of tho Executive Council to-mor-row. Mr Roderick McKenzie, M.P., arrived from the West Coast this morning. It is generally believed that he will be one of the members selected for Cabinet rank by Sir Joseph Ward. If so, he will no doubt receive the portfolio of Public Works. The second new Minister, rumour says, will be selected from Messrs Tlios. Mackenzie, Hogg, Jennings, •and Buddo. One idea is that a third Minister without portfolio may be appointed. The names of the new Ministers have, however, been kepta close secret, and nothing definite has so far been made public. If •Mr Roderick McKenzie is one of the chosen, and it will of course be possible to placate one of the disappointed ones with the Chairmanship of Committees, which would he rendered vacant by Mr McKenzie’s elevation to Cabinet rank. However, toimorrow will see the long standing (mystery at an end. In auy case there will surely be some shuffling of portfolios. ■
