CORRESPONDENCE.

[Correspondence on public matters is welcomed at all times, but it must be distinctly understood that tlnß journal is in no way associated with the opinions of its correspondents.] AMATEUR GARDENING. [To the Editor.] - Sir, —I beg to thank you for. your very kind and appreciative remarks concerning my property, but I should like to make a slight correction. In the first place, I do not lay claim to be a nurseryman ; I am simply a vegetable gardener. In reference to growing currants and gooseberries, what I meant to- convey to your representative was that I had never been very successful with 'currants, but with gooseberries I bad generally succeeded in growing heavy crops. The insertion of the above would tend to remove any slightly erroneous impression which might arise from your notice.—l am, etc., EDWARD LING. Dec. 31. • '
