WESTPORT, Jan. G. Mr Dixon, district superintendent of the 'Westport Coal Company, docs not anticipate that- the, Recitou trouble will extend to the colliery in the 'Westport district. The relations: between the 'Westport Coal Company and its employes are, Mr Dixon says, of the most amicable character. He can sec no reason why they should not continue so.
The president of tin* Dcnuiston Miners’'Union reports that there lire no developments at Dcnuiston, which ha-s so far not been -aHeeled by the dispute at Reef ton. The feeling in labor circles in Westport district'is that the disagreement should bo confined to Tnaiigahua, and that a settlement should be arrived at there as early -as. possible. Two Westport police constables have been ordored to Reefton.
