Tears outside and in ! Poor mites ! How miserable they are ! Flattening their poor little noses against the window-panes, and poor mothers and purses, too, tehy sadly need then share of sympathy. In many nurseries such days are hailed with delight by the little ones. ‘Hurrah! It s a wet day. Wo can paint.’ For on such days only are the pant boxes permitted to see the light. No aniount of coaxing should induce a nurse or mother to allow them out on fine days, so the children never grow weary ©f the amusement, oven when we have a long spell of wet weather. Care should! bo taken to keep a stock of old periodicals on hand, and pieces of discarded ribbon. When t picture is finished to the . satisfaction of the small artist, it is cut out, bound with some ribbon, and hung iu the nursery Avail until the sun chme again. For the very little ones provide a feiv penny boxes of crayons. A child of three, awer less, can use these, kith a little-help from the elder ones.
