SPECIAL LOAN £41,390 FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT. is hereby given that the Gisborne Borough Council intend to take the necessary steps to obtain the consent of the Ratepayers o'f the Borough of Gisborne to borrow £41;390 by way of Special Loan for the following undertakings : 1. The proposed security and provision lor repayment of the Loan is a Special Rate of 6d in tile £ upon the annual rental value of all rateable property within the Borough of Gisborne ; also that a Sinking fund of i per cent, per annum out of such Special rate shall be set aside towards the repayment of the Loan. 4. It is proposed to pay the preliminary expenses and cost of raising the Loan, and the first year’s interest out of the Loan. A meeting of the Ratepayers of the Borough of Gisborne to consider the above proposals will be held at His Majesty’s Theatre, Gisborne, on Monday, the 25th day of January, 1909, at the hour of Eight o’clock p.m. W. The particular undertakings proposed to be engaged in are — Acquisition of Recreation Grounds at Kaiti and Whataupoko, and Improvements to the Borough Reserve at Childers Road and Roebuck Road, and to the Recreation Reserve in Aberdeen Road. 2.
