INFORMATION v\ A V rh D

(Press Association.)

WELLING!'A N. .lan 9

In connection with -i sum of £.'oo raised in New Zealand and no,*• heid liere as a soldiers’ grave fund, it lit:; been decided by the committee >< use the moneys taken by it for Hie upkeep of soldiers’ graves in the Dominion, and to refuse to hand fho money to tho Loyal Women's G.iild of South Af idea us requested. Already some firms have been asked to fi. rnish designs for a distingau iing ma -k which it has been agreed ‘hall be placed on every soldier’s grave discovered in Now Zealand, it is found, however,_ that it is difficult to obtain information regarding the 1< cation cf graves, and though the officers com manding districts have ! eon appvoa"hed and asked to obtain a return if possible of soldiers’ graves in their districts, it lias been so far without effect. It is thought that Mayors of boroughs, heads of local bodies, o’d settlers, old soldiers, and the public generally having any knowledge of tile locality of soldiers’ graves might assist by sending definite information regarding the whereabouts of those unmarked. It will simplify the work of the Guild if unv person interested will send all the information in his power in this connection to Air. Eockstrow, secretary of the Soldiers’ Graves Guild, Wellington.
